Purely Capacitive Sine Wave

In a purely capacitive circuit, the current will leads the voltage by a full 90° causing reactive power to occur. For this reason, capacitors are used with inductive loads to improve the power factor.

Questions on sine waves appear in the 2330-202, 2330-203, 2330-301 and the 2357-309 exams.
